Claudio’s Restaurants
Claudio’s dates back to the 1870’s when Claudio’s Tavern was opened by a Greenport visitor named Manuel Claudio who fell in love with the town when a ship he was working on docked in Greenport harbor in 1854. The original Victorian bar which was installed in 1886 still stands, paying ode to its rich history.
Our Task
Throughout its years, Claudio’s has remained a staple in the Greenport community. Today, Claudio’s Restaurants are comprised of The Clam Bar, Claudio’s Restaurant and Crabby Jerry’s all conveniently located within a couple hundred feet of each other, providing a fun and unique experience for it’s customers.
When the management of Claudio’s approached us, they were looking for a company that could reimagine their online presence with a fresh and modernized look that also upheld the classic authenticity of the Claudio’s historical brand.

The initial challenge was designing a website that could facilitate all of Claudio’s properties while remaining fluid and comprehensive to it’s visitors. Leveraging our years of experience in UX, we began the project by designing a landing page that visually communicates Claudio’s 3 primary properties and allows for quick access to business hours and contact information.
It was vital that each property’s landing pages felt unique, while all a accommodating a clear representation of the Claudio’s brand. Each property website share global information such as contact details and social feeds, but also feature dedicated content particular to their location. While the Clam Bar offers an interactive events calendar, the main Claudio’s Restaurant provides the ability for visitors to book dining reservations.
The end-result was the design and development of a sleek multi-site website that facilitates a centralized digital hub for all three Claudio’s key properties. Our continuing work with Claudio’s Restaurants continues to be an exciting and comprehensive project for Visual Natives.
